A Night
of Celebration and
Collaboration...
(Successful Teachers
Achieving and
Reaching Students)
Our very first
STARS' Night Out for
4th and 5th grade
teachers was a
glowing success. We
accomplished far
more than I ever
imagined. Upon our
arrival at the Reef
Restaurant, we all
received roses
to kick off the
evening (Thank you
Tara). We solved
all of the world's
problem (smile),
created a bond of "educatorhood,"
increased our
excitement about
working with each
other, planned our
instructional
strategies to help
close the
achievement gap,
and created
a feeling of sincere
camaraderie.
The Long Beach
skyline was
heavenly, the food
was scrumptious (a
choice of prime rib,
blackened catfish,
chicken, or
fetticini
with chicken), the
laughs were
plentiful, and
fellowship was
divine. I am
so proud that the
everning was
orchestrated in such
a marvelous
fashion. We had one
small glitch...the
limousine was an
hour and a half late
due to an accident
on the freeway, but
it was well worth
the wait. The time
spent together will
forever remain
etched in our hearts
and minds as a
positive reminder
that we are all
valuable, special,
and appreciated for
what we do for
America's children.
Watch us soar!!!
