Poem of the Month

"Remember"

Watch your thoughts;
they become words.
Watch your words;
they become actions.
Watch your actions;
they become habits.
Watch your habits;
they become character.
Watch your character;
it becomes your destiny.

Book of the Month:
To close out our 2007-2008 school year, we were donated one of Bill Cosby’s books about friendship and imagination entitled,
Little Bill:  The Best Way to Play
.
Since summer time is here and our children will need to find creative ways to play, this book gives them a powerful message about how to find other fun things to do using their imagination and creativity.  The book tells of how Little Bill and his friends LOVED the TV show Space Explorers. When the new Space Explorers video game came out, they each wanted a copy.  But when Little Bill asked his parents to buy him the game, they said no.  So Little Bill and his friends went to their friend Andrew's house to play the game.  They discovered that the video game wasn't nearly as much fun, nor as challenging as what came from their imaginations!  So during the summer, we encourage our students to turn off the televisions, limit the time used to play video games, go to the library, and spend some quality time playing with their friends.
